It is November and we accompany little Sushil to the hospital. A major examination is due.
Six-year-old Sushil Chepang had been badly burnt two years ago. He was only alone in the small hut for a short moment, but much too close to the fireplace too quickly. In seconds he was on fire. When his parents realised that Sushil was on fire, they immediately came to his aid, but the little boy had already suffered severe burns.
As it turned out later in the hospital, the respiratory tract was severely damaged by the heat. Sushil fought for survival for a long time. A special children's clinic in Kathmandu had all the medical equipment needed to treat him in the best possible way.
He had to undergo operations with skin grafts and many, many painful wound treatments. The large scars on his face and left arm tell the story.
Sushil has made it, he is back in life!
Only now and then he has to go back to the special clinic for burn victims - on the outskirts of Kathmandu. Since the scar tissue does not grow with him, it will not be his last operation and skin transplant.
The planned operation has to be postponed - Sushil has a slight cold. The doctors and physiotherapists are caring for his scars and guiding his father in the process. When little Sushil is free of infection, he will come back and then they will operate on him....
As the family could not afford such expensive medical treatment, all costs are covered by LiScha.
A big thank you to all those who help with their donations so that patients like Sushil can be treated quickly and in the best possible way, which sometimes even saves lives.
