At around 20 weeks, waiting times for a therapy place are too long. In some regions of Germany it is extremely difficult to find a suitable therapist. We asked representatives of the parties running for the Bundestag elections how they intend to improve the provision of therapy.

All of the parties interviewed agree: there must be more psychotherapists in Germany. The representatives suggest different ways to achieve this.

👉 Die Linke wants to make therapist training more accessible to all.

👉 Dr. Wieland Schinnenburg of the FDP, on the other hand, is of the opinion: "There are already enough therapists, but too few licensed by the health insurance funds.

👉 SPD, FDP and Linke want to adjust demand planning and make more therapy places available.

👉 Die Grünen (Greens) are planning low-threshold contact points where those affected can receive targeted help.
