Thank you to all supporters. We have collected a considerable sum and forwarded it to "Aktion Deutschland Hilft".

CNI Rapid Response - Background

With CNI Rapid Response we give you the opportunity to help spontaneously and without complications in case of current catastrophes and tragedies. If an event is selected by CNI, you can donate your credits to CNI Rapid Response during the current quarter. After the end of the quarter, the amount is then passed on to the pre-determined organisation.

Last quarter, together with some WeShape partner companies, we collected for the victims of the flood disaster in Germany. Your donation has now been forwarded to "Aktion Deutschland Hilft".

What does "Aktion Deutschland Hilft" do?

We have summarised some press releases from "Aktion Deutschland Hilft" for you. An excerpt from the actions made possible by the donations:

"Our alliance organisations use the donations for the flood disaster responsibly for the most urgent needs in the affected regions. This includes financial support for households," says Manuela Roßbach, Managing Director of Aktion Deutschland Hilft.

Clearing and rebuilding buildings

For example, the organisations use donations to help those affected with relief supplies for clearing and gutting as well as rebuilding.

Habitat for Humanity, for example, supports the establishment and operation of a tool rental for citizens in Dernau. In cases of severe building damage, relief workers also provide affected families with a professional assessment by civil engineers.

Other alliance organisations such as the Malteser or the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund distribute relief supplies such as emergency generators, building dryers or high-pressure cleaners to make damaged houses habitable again.

Mobile homes in the Ahr valley

With financial support from Aktion Deutschland Hilft, a total of 170 mobile homes will be built over the next few weeks in the towns of Sinzig and Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler as well as in the municipality of Altenahr as a temporary solution for families whose houses have been particularly badly damaged.

After a means test, the mobile homes will be allocated by the municipalities to affected residents of the communities whose houses are not yet winter-proof due to damage caused by the floods.

Psychosocial support with mobile teams and on the phone

Aktion Deutschland Hilft relief organisations continue to provide emergency psychosocial care in the disaster regions, offering a contact point for the worries and needs of affected and traumatised people.

AWO International is active with mobile teams for psychosocial counselling in Hagen or Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler. Trafficked persons can also receive psychosocial support from trained staff at any time via a free telephone hotline. To relieve the burden on families, AWO International organises childcare services and holiday camps for children.

Effective microorganisms: 30,000 litres distributed

After the floods in North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate, ADRA is helping with the clean-up and reconstruction work. Since the beginning of September, ADRA has also been supporting the victims by distributing effective microorganisms. These are used to make flooded areas usable again, both indoors and outdoors.

Making houses habitable again after flooding

Applying EM can neutralise toxins and combat odours. This makes houses habitable again and outdoor areas usable again.

The effective microorganisms are given to private households free of charge. Citizens learn everything about the correct application and dosage of liquid EM in training sessions.

If you would like to continue supporting the project, you can of course do so privately via "Aktion Deutschland Hilft". Here is the link to the website: www.aktion-deutschland-hilft.de
